FERC Pauses LNG Report

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has delayed releasing its environmental assessment of plans to bring the mothballed Kenai LNG export plant in Alaska back to life as an import facility to service a nearby refinery. FERC s assessment was due to be released Apr. 24, but that has been pushed back to Jul. 23 to allow the US Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration to perform an "equivalency determination," which is related to a proposed vaporizer at the facility. "Staff will continue to process Trans-Foreland's proposal to the extent possible based upon the information it has filed to date," FERC said.
