Syrian suppliers of finished longs reduce pressure on local market increasing export sales

Long products sector in Syria gradually rebounds, mainly due to successfulexport sales of Syrian mills to Lebanon, Jordan and Saudi Arabia. By raisingexport shipments, re-rollers have reduced stocks and thus stimulated growthof the local demand and prices. In a week, the mills have raised domesticprices for rebar by $40-45/t. They are still interested in import billet but arewary that upward trend reverses and are buying only in small lots.
