Germany: hopes for growth of longs demand fail

The downward trend observed in almost all European markets, has come to Germany as well. The demand growthanticipated since mid-September has never occurred, while the decrease in scrap prices seen in the past month hasresulted in a collapse of finished product prices. Even though German end-consumers have little stocks left, they still preferto keep out of the market in hope for further decline in raw material and long product quotations, market participants say.
