Turkish exporters of longs lift prices hoping demand to rally after holidays

There is weaker buying activity in the Turkish export longs market before the Muslim holidays. Customers from theMiddle East and North Africa have preferred to refrain from new deals as most of them have sufficient inventories andhave taken a break in making bookings, thus trying to knock prices down. Nevertheless, Turkish exporters of longs,referring to increasing prices for square billet and scrap as well as expecting demand to improve by the end of themonth, have lifted prices by $10-20/t in two stages.
