An alternative technique for steri-strip application: A response to 'time is money: A faster way of steri-strip application (the 3-finger technique)'

We read with interest the letter sent by Duscher et al about their own Steri-Strip (Nexcare, 3M; St Paul, Minnesota) application, the 3-finger technique, and congratulate the authors for their interesting work. We know from the literature that Steri-Strips should be applied parallel to each other and perpendicular to the wound edge. The 3-finger application seemingly promotes efficiency, but the distance between Steri-Strips is determined by surgeon precision. We use an easier and faster technique similar to the one described by Duscher et al:
