摘要

Ethylene Propylene Diene (EPDM) rubber is widely used to produce underthe-hood radiator hoses for the automotive industry. Compared to sulfur cross-linked EPDM compounds, peroxide based compounds are able to withstand 150 degrees C for 168h with >80% retention of mechanical properties. In the last few years, significant technology advancements in the internal combustion engines have been made and the highly efficient turbo-charged engines run at much higher temperatures than their earlier counterparts. In this paper, we outline a new EPDM compound capable of withstanding 150 degrees C for 1008h.
