摘要

Bio-sourced plasticizers offer a high-performance, non-toxic, eco-sustainable alternative to traditional plasticizers. However, replacing a fossil oil with a bio-based one involves key technical issues including compatibility with the rubber matrix, interaction with compounding ingredients and tuning of cure packages. A novel bio-sourced plasticizer, obtained through a bio-refinery production technology from vegetable feedstock, is compounded as free oil in a typical tyre tread formulation and described as a potential replacement of TDAE oil with an overall promising performance. The addition of a bio-based terpene resin increases the green fingerprint of the tread compound.
