2019 HAS WELCOMED fast-growing construction segments such as highways, water and wastewater projects, in particular. "Highway projects are benefitting from the fuel tax increases that 30 states have enacted in the last seven years, along with growing acceptance of tolls as a way to pay for capacity additions and replacements," says Ken Si-monson, chief economist at Associated General Contractors of America (AGC).
