SICILIAN RAIDERS Building the ICM Junkers Ju88 A-14

This Ju88 A-14 of Staffel 1./KG77 was stationed in Sicily during the early part of World War 2, from where it was deployed as a dive bomber engaged in the destruction of Allied shipping in the Mediterranean. The normal Junkers Ju88 colour scheme was a two colour 'splinter1 pattern, standardised so that all planes looked the same. The rigid order of this system was not so popular in the field, since the essence of camouflage is to break up patterns, rather than reinforce them.
