Despite a stumble during the last year that started to discourage investors, Taiwan's fledgling offshore wind industry is set for take off Taiwan's government has managed to establish a large and dynamic new offshore wind market in a very short space of time, by establishing a clear target of 5.5 GW of installed capacity by 2025, which would meet 20% of overall demand, offering an attractive initial feed-in tariff, and installing a clear zoning process for offshore development. This has attracted some of the world's leading developers of offshore wind, with experts forecasting that Taiwan could become one of the most important offshore wind markets, and in the region, second only to China.
