In issue 4605 of Model Engineer magazine (1st February 2019) there was a wonderful three page article about what was called NICHE ENGINEERING. This was a description of various people letting their imaginations run riot, nothing to scale and not a single rivet counter in sight. I have been told my locomotives fall into that category! I try to get the locomotives to run properly rather than worrying about things being scale. My locomotives are built for fun instead of a superb scale appearance. Measuring and making things by hand is very enjoyable! Well, it does stop me from slumping in a chair!
