Number 24 was an example of the final development of the single truck tramcar fleet of Bolton Corporation (photo 1). As such it typified the tramcars to be found throughout Britain at the peak of the tramway era. Indeed, for many systems it was their ultimate design with further development considered to be pointless before the replacement buses took over.
