L&NWR 0-8-2T Heavy Shunting Tank Locomotive - PART 1

This model locomotive was commenced shortly after the series on the building of the 0-8-0 'D' Class engine and tender was completed by Nigel Thompson, and serialised in Engineering in Miniature magazine. I have always loved tank engines as they seem to be so splendidly self-contained. I was fortunate to obtain a copy of the original prototype drawing and there are several constructional changes that I was able to incorporate into what is basically Nigel's chassis design.
