One of the most important aspects of clock making is dividing the wheels so as to cut precisely the required number of evenly spaced teeth. I have made a number of clocks using various methods of dividing the wheels to cut the teeth accurately and, having discussed this with other clock makers, they all seem to have their own preferred method.
