Cylinders and pistons Starting on the cylinder blocks is a major psychological step. It is a huge task with lots of machining and plenty of pitfalls. I started with some trepidation. However, the good news is that, unlike the tedious work on the brake linkages, this work is enjoyable stuff: facing, milling, boring, drilling and tapping - spiced with the ever-present danger of wrecking the whole job through a foolish error. I am happy to say that I did complete the cylinders with only one foolish error and no broken taps. The error occurred when I used an edge finder to locate a hole and forgot to deduct the radius of the edge finder (2mm) when zeroing the DRO but I was able to correct for this in the flange that was subsequently attached.
