Sugarcane farmers expect the 2020/21 sugarcane crush to yield no more than 65-66 million tonnes while industry associations put it at 69 million. This compares with 75 million tonnes last year. The sugarcane acreage is seen at 8.7 million rai (1.39 million ha) and the number of active mills at 57.
