GREEN PLAINS UPBEAT ON 2019 ETHANOL EXPORTS AND E-15, RESULTS REMAIN IN THE RED

Agribusiness company Green Plains Inc. expects US ethanol exports at around 1.8 bln gallons for 2018, with growth on the cards for the coming year, its CEO, Todd Becker, said. Even without China, Green Plains thinks the exports can grow by 100 mln gallons next year. Mr Becker noted that China had been expected to import 200 mln gallons this year but has instead been out of the market for months due to the trade war. However, the company is most excited about E-15, which could potentially add as much as 7 bln gallons of fuel ethanol demand. “We anticipate E-15 at 1,950 stations in 2019, resulting in total new demand with year-round blending of 300 mln gallons,” he said.
