World market prices settled lower, following better weather forecasts for Brazil and expectations for an improved harvest result for Vietnam. There was concern over too dry conditions in Brazil, following much-needed rains that induced crop floweringin early October, and supply tightness ahead of the harvest in Vietnam. The crop in Brazil is going in its crucial crop flowering period that requires rains to encourage pollination. Flowering events in Brazil were highly expected, since the first flowers, which opened in late August, were damaged by the dry weather in September.
