Uterine rupture: a case study from a rural hospital in Chhattisgarh, India

Uterine rupture occurs when the uterine wall splits at some point that has become thinned or weakened and is unable to withstand the strain of further stretching or force of uterine contractions. This can occur anytime beyond the 28th week of pregnancy (Konar 2015). It is a disastrous, yet preventable event, that requires immediate medical attention.
