Campbell Taggart became a national baking powerhouse through geographic expansion, innovative bread varieties and strategic acquisitions. The executive decisions of two Texans, William (Bill) Mead and Connie B. Lane, led the charge as Campbell Taggarteventually became the second largest baking company in the United States.The commitments of Mr. Mead and Mr. Lane to their company and the baking industry overall earned them a place in the American Society of Baking's Baking Hall of Fame this year.
