Dale Quarry - Chesterfield County, Virginia 'Uncovering the Green Giant'

On September 14th, 2019, the Richmond Gem and Mineral Society led a trip to Dale Quarry in Chesterfield Co., Virginia. According to the September edition of the Collecting Bag, it had been around six years since the club last entered the quarry, with the last photograph record on Mindat showing a 2004 excursion. The quarry is owned and operated by Vulcan Materials for crushed stone and has been a mineral collecting location for beryl, almandine garnets, molybdenite, K-feldspar, autunite, zircon, quartz and other pegmatite minerals for years!
