Ninth Circuit Upholds Oregon Ban on Use of Motorized Mining Equipment in Certain Rivers and Streams In a split decision, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit upheld an Oregon statute that prohibits the use of motorized mining equipment in waters designated as containing essential indigenous anadromous salmonid habitat.
