Michigan oil and gas drilling activity rebounded from what may have been the slowest three-month period in the state's history of commercial oil and gas production, with a tally of third quarter 2020 activity conducted by Michigan Oil & Gas News showing that a total of 7 new holes had reached total depth from July 1 to Sept. 30. The third quarter activity increased the total of new holes for the first 9 months of the year to 19, down by nearly 39% from the 31 holes drilled in the first three quarters of 2019.
