STEEL JET PROTECTION TUBE TIGHTING RING BETWEEN LADLE AND TUNDISH

摘要

This paper presents a method of reduction the steel reoxidation between the ladle and the tundish, by insulating the junction inferior inlet of the ladle-ladle shroud with an inorganic fibre ring This method was tested at the Continuous Casting no 1 Plant from SIDEX and it provided significant decreases of the O_2 and N_2 amounts in the liquid steel, with important technical and economical effects.
