September 19th 2016: The black Potjie pot was simmering gently in the night, on a round rock depression along the bank of the Orange river. In front of us, on the south-african side, the veil of rain which was pouring over the Richtersveld could be sensed. The magic was enhanced by the rising of the moon, creating a moon-bow over the rugged Richtersveld slopes. These were good omens for the next few days which I would dedicate to climbing the highest peaks around Rosh Pinah with my devoted assistants, Matt and Guilhem.
