As a young engineer at the beginning of your career there are many exciting avenues open to explore and lots to learn. My personal journey began with a masters degree in materials science and engineering from the University of Manchester with an internship as a materials engineer for a ceramics company. Fast forward 3 years and I am now working as a production engineer for a plasties company. My career path definitely took me down a different route than I anticipated, but I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience as an engineer. Below are 5 top tips for young engineers that I have learnt along the way, and that I think would be useful for other young engineers starting out in their chosen career.
