This article summarises a newly completed study of the composites manufacturing industry, and associated training and education, in Australia. A number of critical issues surfaced, in relation to the needs of composite manufacturing companies, and also the ability of the companies, with and without the assistance of the training providers, to develop a suitably skilled workforce. There was extensive interaction with the companies and organisations working and/or associated with this industry sector, including visits and correspondence with companies, and feedback from questionnaires distributed to companies.
