USDA Forest Service to use CFRP Tanks from Spencer Composites for New Airborne Fire Fighting System

Aero Union of Chico, California, a supplier of special mission airborne equipment, received the production contract award from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Forest Service for a new fire fighting system for use in the Lockheed Martin C-130 E and H models. This new system, developed by Aero Union for the Forest Service in cooperation with Lockheed Martin and the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve, will enter service later this year. The Forest Service announced from its National Interagency Fire Center in Boise that it is exercising "the option to purchase seven production units."
