Mapei SpA, Milano, is a new international challenger in composite materials for applications in the building industry.It specializes in structural adhesives and sealant, adhesion technology and services, chemical additives, all part of what they call the Mapei FRP System. This last business branch has gained strong experience from the opportunities met in Italy out of disastrous natural events that caused severe damage to art treasure and buildings, a first class example being the Basilique of Assisi with the Giotto Frescos, after the earthquake of 1997.
