Safety and cost reduction requirements are pushing ahead technologies of so-called Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). These, relatively new, techniques are capable of collecting data about critical structural elements and detecting defects and anomalies. Fiberoptic distributed sensors constitute an important group among SHM methods and many works are taking place in this field.
