Rockwood Composites secures order for Eurofighter decoy launch system parts

Devon-based Rockwood Composites (www.rockwoodcomposites.com) has won an order for parts for 130 decoy launch systems for Babcock International's Eurofighter programme. The order was secured on the basis of development work undertaken by Rockwood Composites, which established that these parts-previously manufactured using a filament winding process - could be made using its bladder moulding technology. By doing so, significant quality and cost advantages were gained while maintaining the strength, stiffness, physical size and electromagnetic performance of the existing filament wound parts.
