Hiringa partners with TR on fuel cell trucks for New Zealand, Mitsui for NZ projects

Hiringa Energy and TR Group in New Zealand have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to offer fuel cell electric heavy trucks for the NZ market, partnering Hiringa's nationwide hydrogen refueling network with TR's heavy truck fleet lease, rental and maintenance management expertise. Hiringa - the first NZ company dedicated to supplying 'green' hydrogen - has also signed a strategic alliance agreement with Japanese trading giant Mitsui & Co to jointly pursue green hydrogen related commercial projects in New Zealand. Hiringa and TR Group will offer fuel-inclusive leasing packages that offer greater flexibility to heavy vehicle operators and companies looking to decarbonise their supply chain. The vehicles will be offered in several configurations and weight classes, including 50 tonne-plus combined mass and 6×4 and 8×4 drivetrains. The first vehicles are expected to be available in 2021.
