Pakistan Mulberry

My Pakistan mulberry story is mostly a tale of pruning and propagation: pruning off excess growth and propagating new treesrrom cuttings. But harvesting and eating the delicious, worm-like berries are the story's highpoints!Like several of my trees, the mulberry came into my garden as a small plant in a one-gallon pot purchased atour Orange County Chapter's annual Green Scene sale. One of our members had propagated it from a cutting. It was labeled "black Pakistan mulberry" to indicate it produces "black" berries, not the very similar sweet but less flavorful white berries. Thatwas in May 2001.
