U.S. Oil, Gas Production Gains, Global Emission Rise Highlighted by BP

Energy demand growth in the U.S. and production of oil and natural gas were at unprecedented levels in 2018, BP reported June 11 in its annual Statistical Review of World Energy. The annual report also showed rising levels of carbon emissions, at their fastest rate since 2011, with BP officials viewing the data as an alarming indicator of the challenges tied to decarbonization and climate change goals.
