AltaGas Begins Operations at North Pine NGL Separation Facility

AltaGas Ltd. on December 20, said it started operations at its North Pine NGL Separation Facility in British Columbia, with the $120 million (Canadian) project completed ahead of schedule and about (C)$15 million under budget. The North Pine facility is connected to existing AltaGas infrastructure and has access to the Canadian National Railway network, allowing transportation of propane, butane, and condensate to different markets, including the Ridley Island Propane Export Terminal (RIPET) that is under construction in British Columbia and due to be completed in early 2019. “Once RIPET is complete, we will be able to offer producers a broad suite of midstream services and new market diversification, including premium netbacks through the strong propane demand and pricing in Asian markets,” said David Harris, president and CEO of AltaGas.
