Atlantic Coast Pipeline - a New Transmission Line to Serve the Burgeoning Virginia-Carolina Natural Gas Generation Markets - Requests FERC Certification of Project and Related Capacity Lease with LDC

On 9/18/15, Atlantic Coast Pipeline LLC (Atlantic), which plans to build a new 564- mile natural gas transmission line with a capacity of 1.5 million Dth/d to serve large electric generation utilities in Virginia and North Carolina as well as a broader spectrum of local distribution customers, filed an application with FERC for a certificate to construct and operate the facility (CP15-554). The filing, pursuant to section 7 of the Natural Gas Act (NGA), also requested blanket certificates to provide open access transportation service and construct, operate, and/or abandon certain facilities.
