To Link Growing Production in Texas and in the Northeast, Texas Eastern Applies for FERC Certificate to Build Gulf Markets Expansion Project

In mid-February, Texas Eastern Transmission, LP (CP15-90) applied at FERC for a certificate for its $149 million proposed Gulf Markets Expansion Project, which if approved will provide an additional 650,000 Dth/d of firm transportation to the Gulf Coast region of Louisiana and Texas. The pipeline would be adding capacity to flow gas in a southerly direction, as well as in the traditional northerly direction, linking to supplies in Texas and the Northeast - marking it as another project that is altering gas flows in the U.S., given the rise of shale gas supplies. The project will also link supplies for export.
