Kinder Morgan and Brookfield Infrastructure Partners Go 50-50 on Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America

On December 1, Moody's Investors Service changed Kinder Morgan Inc.'s (KMI) outlook to "negative" from stable. This followed the November 30 announcement that KMI would increase its ownership in Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America LLC (NGPL, Caa2 negative) to 50% from 20% for approximately $136 million. Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP will own the remaining 50%. KMI and Brookfield will jointly acquire, from Myria Holdings, Inc., the 53% equity interest in NGPL already owned by them for a total purchase price of approximately $242 million.
