UGI/Central Penn Gas Defend Spindown Transaction and FERC Authorizations Against Rehearing Claims That Discriminatory Results Favoring Pennsylvania Customers Will Ensue

UGI Storage Co. (CP10-23) and UGI Central Penn Gas, Inc. (CPG) (CP10-24) took a shot at a request for rehearing submitted to FERC by the SS-1 Customer Group on November 22 regarding the FERC's order on October 21 granting abandonment authority, issuing a certificate, and granting market-based rate authority. SS-1 asserts that the Commission "approved an unduly discriminatory rate framework" in granting market-based rate authority to UGI Storage because it acted after the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PA PUC) issued a settlement order resolving certain cost recovery issues affecting the rates to be charged by CPG to its retail customers.
