FERC Adopts New HDD Guidance for Water Crossings Based on Comments

Contractors building new natural gas pipelines have updated guidance from FERC staff on horizontal directional drilling (HDD) for underground crossings rivers, streams, and wetlands. The guidance document (AD19-6) was modified following a comment period in which the gas industry and contractors asked the Commission not to be too prescriptive with HDD guidelines for pipeline construction.
