摘要

In connection with spreading of the COVID-19 disease and the emergency state, the number of e-shops offering foodstuffs has significantly increased as well as the number of entrepreneurs who extended their food businesses enabling ordering their goods on-line. Selling foodstuffs via Internet - by means of e-shops, social networks, etc. - comprises the necessity to keep rules of which aim is to protect consumers particularly against unsafe foodstuffs and unfair business practices. With regard to the fact that online sale of foodstuffs is a new situation for a range of operators and they may not be aware of certain obligations, the Czech Agriculture and Food Inspection Authority updated document "Internet sale of foodstuffs - elementary requirements for food business operators" where main obligations specific for Internet sale of foodstuffs are summarised (the document is available in Czech language only). This document, which is available on the CAFIA website in Section Entrepreneurs, may significantly help in preventing unintentional violation of legislation.
