A European study called The Importance of Sustainability in Packaging, by Pro Carton and Smithers Pira, notes that an overwhelming 96% of brand owners and retailers who were surveyed said that the sustainability of the packaging they buy is important. Over half said that it is "very important" or "critical." The study also reports that, "The consensus of opinion was that the need for more sustainable packaging will grow over the next five years."
