The powder coating industry is alive and well and poised for significant growth according to a couple market reports cited by the European Coatings Journal. One study predicts that the global market for powder coatings to grow to over {EUR} 14.49 billion by 2024. This growth will be fueled by consumer preference for powder's major properties of durability, corrosion resistance, and high lustre & shine. I am not certain what they mean by high lustre & shine as compared to other coating technologies. It seems to me that most, if not all, industrial coatings have these desirable properties. Regardless optimism is high for significant growth in powder coatings as consumers are focusing toward the adoption of new green building construction techniques that eco-friendly building materials such as powder coatings.
