BASF sells Construction Chemicals business to Lone Star private equity fund

As part of its rationalisation programme,BASF has signed an agreement to sell its global Construction Chemicals business to Lone Star Funds(a private equity fund).Subject to anti-trust approvals,the transaction is expected to close in 3Q 2020.The purchase price on a cash and debt-free basis is €3.17 bn.BASF Construction Chemicals makes and sells a wide range of polymers,dispersions and additives for construction industry applications,including:concrete admixtures,cement additives,solutions for underground construction,waterproofing systems,concrete repair and protection systems,flooring systems,building insulation materials,grouts,fillers,etc.With more than 7000 employees,the business has production sites and sales offices in more than 60 countries.For full-year 2018,it generated sales revenues of around €2.5 bn.
