Yibin Tianyuan began the commissioning phase of its chloride-route TiO2 pigment plant at its chloralkali chemicals complex at Yibin (250 km south of Chengdu, Sichuan province) in February 2019. In June, the company declared the plant fully on-stream, with a nameplate capacity of 50,000 tonnes/y. Construction work on a second 50,000 tonnes/y production line is scheduled to commence before the end of 2019. Yibin Tianyuan has not disclosed the original source of the chloride-route technology employed.
