Sperm sorting for selection of healthy sperm: Is it safe and useful?

Several approaches to improve the outcomes of assisted reproduction techniques (ART) have been proposed and practiced. Among others, advanced sperm selection methods are drawing a growing interest from researchers. Despite the lack of conclusive data about the impact of sperm DNA fragmentation on ART outcome, a number of researchers suppose that such methods of sperm selection, by isolating mature, structurally intact, and nonapoptotic spermatozoa with DNA integrity, would improve the ART outcome in terms of embryo quality and implantation rate.
