An Acorn Energy company, US Seismic Systems declared that it has achieved additional order for its ultra-high sensitivity fiber-optic based sensor array. This array has been developed for being adopted by the University of Calgary's Department of Geoscience researchers for permanent carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) monitoring. CCS is the technology behind capturing CO_2 from power plants and various other industrial plants. CO_2 will then be infused within deep subsurface geological formations, thereby preventing its entry into the atmosphere to fight climate change.
