Asian hot rolled coil prices hit a fouryearhigh in early August, boosted by thestrong Chinese domestic market. US andEuropean markets remained subdued overthe summer holiday period but mills startedto lift their coil prices in August to passthrough higher scrap prices. To what extentthe higher prices will be accepted dependson the strength of underlying demand oncetrading resumes in early September.
