Major rebar markets all strengthened inJuly and into the first half of August, withbig price gains seen in Turkey and China ontight domestic supply and robust demand.Momentum in China and rising scrap andbillet prices in Turkey should see rebar priceswell supported over the coming month. InEurope, mills have tried to lift rebar priceson higher scrap prices but appetite has beenlackluster during peak summer vacationseason. Buying should resume from earlySeptember when the market returns.
