摘要

An angiosperm plant is a sporophyte differentiated as a rule into root, stem and leaves. Its reproductive processes may be divided into two categories: vegetative or asexual reproduction and sexual or seed reproduction. Vegetative reproduction includes such phenomenon as the production of new plants by runners, rhizomes, tubers, bulbs, and corms and various human controlled processes such as grafting, layering and cutting of stems and leaves. Sexual or seed reproduction involves the fusion of a malesex cell with a female sex cell produced in flowers, which are the reproductive organs in angiosperms. This fusion process is called fertilization and results in the formation of a fertilized egg or zygote, which develops into the embryo of seed.
